RETREAT FROM MOSCOU 1812

These flats are examples of a very special set edited by late Werner Scholtz between 1932 - 1936. Designed by Hans Fritsch and engraved by Sixtus Maier there are 244 different figures of Napoleons Grande Armeé depicted. It is one of the bigger sets edited at once for a special historical outlay. All of these flats are still available from Scholtz Berlin. You will find some more shown at their site.

Besides the members of Grande Armeé this set includes russian peasants, cossacks and even some wolves attacking dispersed stragglers.

There are many of them shown here most of them painted by Vladimir Douchkine, Paris. Flats at page 3 have been painted by Mr. Rieger and the author.

And please be patient, as loading will take a little.
